Gulf of Mexico (MOEX USA) | Gulf of Mexico (MitEnergy)
In May 2006, MOECO, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. and Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A), Inc. acquired a 50% interest of oil and gas leasehold in the Gulf of Mexico from Pogo Producing Company. MitEnergy Upstream LLC was established in the U.S.A and holds the 50% interest. The owners of MitEnergy are Mitsui E&P (USA) LLC (70%) and MOEX U.S.A. Corp. (30%: a wholly-owned subsidiary of MOECO).
Daily production volume of oil and gas (MitEnergy's net) was 7,300 boed.
In November 2009, MitEnergy Upstream LLC has entered into a purchase and sale agreement to divest all of its Gulf of Mexico oil and gas assets to Energy XXI, Inc.
